The Challenge

For 50 years, The National Military Family Association (NMFA) has been actively fighting for benefits and programs that strengthen and protect uniformed service families. However, there are many valuable and highly visible NGOs that service the military; the NMFA was getting lost in a crowded field. Fundraising was declining and engagement across communications platforms was waning.

The Activation

ONE HUNDRED, working closely with NMFA, conducted a feasibility study to assess the organization’s current development and communications efforts, determining the viability of a potential capacity-building campaign, and developing a communications campaign to increase funding. Through quantitative research, personal interviews, wealth screening of the database, a review of NMFA’s past fundraising, an assessment of communications performance and programs, and a survey of the philanthropic market of nonprofits that serve the military, our team provided a fundraising and communications strategy to extend the organization’s current fundraising capacities, as well as its potential to secure campaign support.

These steps will ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the organization and allow NMFA to continue to expand and grow their support and advocacy of military families around the world.
